In Kivule's dawn, a leader was born,
Ali Hassan Mwinyi, from humble morn.
His journey unfolded, from Zanzibar's shore,
A life of service, to cherish and adore.
From his youth as Sihaba, then Nsaza he'd be,
Ali his final name, with faith so free.
A life of names, each a chapter told,
In the tale of a leader, brave and bold.
A teacher first, with wisdom to impart,
He led with grace, from the very start.
Through ASP's door, to ministerial heights,
His path was set, with clear sights.
In Zanzibar's land, as President he stood,
Introducing reforms, where change once would.
To Tanzania's spirit, his leadership brought,
A legacy of progress, in every thought.
The father of free media, in a land long closed,
He opened minds, where freedom arose.
His tenure marked, by decisions bold,
Yet, with humility, his story told.
In '85, Tanzania's helm he'd embrace,
A decade of transformation, in every space.
Through trials and triumphs, his people's guide,
With each challenge, he'd stand by their side.
Education, liberation, his noble quests,
A nation transformed, at his behest.
With grace and dignity, he'd retire,
A legacy of leadership, to forever inspire.
In Tanzanian history, his name engraved,
A leader, a visionary, a nation he saved.
As we bid farewell, to Mzee Rukhsa's light,
His legacy shines, ever bright.
Let his wisdom guide, let his spirit soar,
In Tanzanians' souls, forevermore,
As we say goodbye to a leader so grand,
Our hearts heavy with grief, across the land,
Rest in Peace, His Excellency Ali Hassan Mwinyi, in the eternal light you stand.
Thank you.
