JESHI LA ULINZI KENYA LAUWA MAGAIDI WAWILI WA AL SHABAAB WESTGATE


NAIROBI, Kenya

WAZIRI wa Usalama wa Kenya, Joseph Ole Lenku, amethibitisha kuuawa kwa magaidi wawili wa Kikosi cha Waasi cha Al Shabaab cha nchini Somalia, huku vikosi vya Jeshi la Ulinzi la Kenya likifanikiwa kudhibiti hali ya usalama katika Kituo cha Biashara cha Kimataifa cha WestGate jijini hapa.

Al Shabaab, walikivamia kituo hicho juzi Jumamosi na kufyatua risasi ovyo kwa wafanyakazi na wateja, hivyo kusababisha vifo vya watu 62 na wengine 175 kujeruhiwa, huku 58 wakilazwa katika hospitali mbalimbali jijini hapa.

Licha ya vikosi vya Jeshi la Ulinzi kufanikiwa kudhibiti usalama katika jengo hilo la ghorofa nne, Waziri Lenku amekiri jeshi lake kutotambua idadi ya watu walio ndani ya jengo hadi sasa, huku wanamgambo wa Al Shabaab, wakichoma magodoro ya moja ya maduka katika jengo hilo ili kujihami na vikosi vya jeshi.

Serikali za nchi mbalimbali barani Afrika, Ulaya na duniani kwa ujumla, zimeendelea kutuma salam za rambirambi kwa Rais wa Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, huku Makamu wa Rais huyo, William Ruto akipewa ruhusa maalum ya wiki moja na Mahakama ya Kimataifa ya Uhalifu wa Kivita (ICC), ili kurejea Nairobi.

Katika uvamizi huo, Al Shabaab imesababisha vifo vya watu kadhaa kutoka nchi mbalimbali duniani, hivyo kurejesha kumbukumbu za Wakenya juu ya tukio la kigaidi lililofanywa kwenye Ubalozi wa Marekani jijini hapa, mwaka 2008.


Mungu azilaze roho za marehemu mahali pema peponi, huku akiwajaalia majeruhi wote waweze kupona kwa haraka na kurejea katika harakati mbalimbali za ujenzi wa Taifa.
