The Ministry of Blue Economy, ZPDC and ZPRA met in Zanzibar with national and international partners, namely Ocean Business Partners and dmgevents from the UK to strengthen the longstanding relationship as well as unlocking the opportunities in Zanzibar’s energy and industry sector.
Led by Permanent Secretary Dr. Aboud S. Jumbe, the Zanzibari delegation heard the latest developments and cooperation in attracting international investors and how can the country harness its natural resources potential in areas such as the blue economy, sustainable economy, local contentand opportunities for Zanzibari businesses and citizens.
The Permanent Secretary reiterated the openness of the Government to worldwide investments and vision 2050 whilst confirming the country’s priorities in these strategic areas. Dmgevents and OBP showcased their experience in working with governments from around the world and over fifteen years in providing training and capacity building to Zanzibar. Dmgevents and OBP have also organised symposiums in Dubai for the Tanzanian government as well as providing scholarships to Government officials in investments in the energy sector.
Both parties have agreed on deepening the collaboration and moving forward with a tangible plan wit the technical teams which will allow Zanzibar businesses and citizens to acquire necessary skills and be exposed to opportunities in the energy sector as well as masterclasses which will enhance knowledge and capacity for future generations.
