Dar
es Salaam – 15th October 2014 -Emirates, a global connector of people and places, is offering Tanzanian
travellers discounted fares on business economy tickets to a range of exciting destinations as it
celebrated the launch of its second service to Dar es Salaam.
The special fares apply when
booked between October 6th and October 20th 2014 for
travel period starting October 26th 2014 until December 03rd
2014.
For instance, a return Economy
Class ticket form Dar es Salaam to London Heathrow starts from as little as
$1059. Other destinations include Bangkok from $873, Zurich from $701, Paris
from $813, Copenhagen $846, Kuala Lumpur from $1424, and JF Kennedy from $1263.
Emirates
is also offering discounted Business Class return fares from $3450 to London Heathrow,
$3581to Bangkok, $2433 to Zurich, $2929 to Paris, $2838 to Copenhagen, $4588 to Kuala Lumpur, and $4586 to JF
Kennedy.
Announcing the new promotional fares, Emirates Country Manager for
Tanzania Khalid Al Zarouni said: “We are offering our economy and business class customers
upto 25% discount as thank you gesture for their continued support for
Emirates. Through this support, we will be increasing our service into and out
of Tanzania by additional five weekly service starting October 26, 2014.”
EK 727 and 728 will be in service every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Saturday and Sunday and will complement Emirates’ existing daily operation,
EK725, further boosting inbound and outbound passenger traffic and cargo flows
between Tanzania and Dubai, and Emirates’ worldwide network.
The new flight will be operated with an Emirates A330-200, in a three
class configuration with 12 seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 183
in Economy Class, adding a total of 2,370 seats and up to 170 tons of cargo
capacity a week on the route.
“Our services have gone from strength to
strength over the years and for the last 17 years we have operated in this
market, we have seen demand for our services grow. This has necessitated the
introduction of additional five weekly flights out of Dar es Salaam,” he said.
Emirates started a twice weekly service between Dubai and Dar es Salaam
linked with Nairobi on 28th October 1997 using an Airbus A310-300. Following
steady growth and demand on the route over the years, the frequency and
capacity was increased and the flight was delinked from Nairobi, becoming a
daily non-stop service between Dubai and Dar es Salaam in 2006.
Currently,
the airline operates daily flights between Dar es Salaam and Dubai and onward
to more than 140 destinations in 81 countries across six continents, and it’s the
world’s largest operator of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft.
EK 725 departs Dubai International Airport
(DIA) every day at 1015hrs and arrives at the Julius Nyerere International
Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam at 1455hrs. The return flight leaves JNIA at
1645hrs and lands in Dubai at 2320hrs every day. From October 26, 2014, EK727 will Depart DIA
at 1655hrs and arrive in Dar es Salaam at 2150hrs. The return flight EK728 will
depart Dar es Salaam at 2325hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0615hrs the next day
